Every child deserves to be safe at school. Every child deserves to be treated with dignity. And every family should know that the school wants to work with them, not around them.
Parents and schools will not always agree. But disagreement does not make parents outsiders to their children’s education.
The law recognizes a central role for parents. Our District calls them partners in learning. I want our policies to reflect that partnership in practice.
In most families, the best interests of the child and the involvement of the parents point the same way. Our policies should too.
