Independent Candidates Team Up To Refocus District 33 On Education Fundamentals
“Trustees for Change” Campaign Launch at Noon Wednesday, August 26th
Monday, August 24 th , 2026 – CHILLIWACK
– A group of independent candidates for Chilliwack School Board are forming an informal slate of five like-minded but nevertheless diverse individuals who want to turn the page on the divisive spirit that has pervaded school board business lately, reducing morale and distracting from the core functions of the board.
“We are presenting a diverse and highly qualified group of candidates who are going to be campaigning on positive ideas to improve our schools and refocus our district’s priorities on the fundamentals: graduating students with solid numeracy, literacy and critical thinking skills,” stated Tera Procee, a longtime business leader in Chilliwack. “It is great to see local parents, business leaders and problem-solvers on our slate. I feel confident this team will help School District 33 regain its focus and use its resources more efficiently.”
The launch will be held at the downtown Chilliwack Coast Hotel, 45920 First Avenue, in the Sardis Room and will serve as an introduction to the candidates and some of their ideas. News media and citizens interested in school board politics are welcome at this public event.
